About the Company

Tim Sekata Sdn Bhd is a Malaysian building, civil engineering and infrastructure contractor established in 1992. Wholly Bumiputera-owned, the company has grown into one of the country's established G7 contractors, delivering major construction and infrastructure projects for both the public and private sectors. Over more than three decades, Tim Sekata has built a reputation for undertaking complex projects with a strong focus on quality, safety, technical excellence and timely delivery.

The company is registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) as a Grade G7 contractor, the highest contractor classification in Malaysia with no tender limit, covering Building (B), Civil Engineering (CE) and Mechanical & Electrical (ME) categories. Tim Sekata is also registered with the Ministry of Finance (MOF), allowing it to participate in a wide range of government development and infrastructure projects.

Throughout its history, Tim Sekata has successfully completed projects with a combined value exceeding RM1 billion. Its portfolio includes highways, expressways, bridges, rail infrastructure, institutional buildings, educational facilities, marine infrastructure, earthworks, retaining structures and other large-scale civil engineering works. The company's experience covers both conventional construction and design-and-build procurement, enabling it to manage projects from initial planning through to completion.

Tim Sekata has contributed to several of Malaysia's key transportation projects, including the Ampang Line LRT Extension, the Klang Valley MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Track Works, and the Thailand High-Speed Rail project through a joint venture. The company has also delivered major road and expressway works, including packages for the KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR), federal road upgrades, and challenging road construction projects in Cameron Highlands.

In addition to transportation infrastructure, the company has completed institutional and commercial developments for clients such as JKR Malaysia, Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), the Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM), Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, PNB Merdeka Ventures and other government agencies and private organisations. This broad project experience reflects the company's capability to deliver complex construction works across multiple sectors while meeting demanding technical, operational and quality requirements.
